Tim Coughlin BSc, MSc, PhD, FAusIMM, MSEG

I'm a structural geologist with over 25 years of mineral exploration and mining experience. My specialities are brittle structural geology applied to hydrothermal systems, tectonics, orogenesis and targeting. My work varies from project scale problem solving, through regional target generation and target prioritisation to the development of country-scale exploration decision support systems (EDSS).

I have worked for major and junior miners and mineral explorers, petroleum companies and research institutions in Australasia, the America's, Russia, Eastern Europe and West Africa.

Most recently my project work has focussed on helping companies with EDSS in new countries and emerging exploration environments. This work involves the distillation and logical reorganisation of large volumes of technical information into simple time-space analyses and exploration terrane maps in order to quickly and confidently assess prospectivity and identify exploration opportunities. An EDSS is a powerful tool which enables clients to confidently focus their exploration investment on environments which provide the shortest route to success.

I am based on the island of Jersey in the English Channel. You can contact me clicking the CONTACT tab above
